Exploring innovations, sustainability in food and agriculture

Eight Iowa State University students have worked hard this semester conducting research and exploring innovations to uncover potential sustainability practices to apply in the agriculture industry. All this has been done through their participation in the America’s Cultivation Corridor Next Gen Innovation Impact Study internship. 

In the program’s third year, this semester’s student interns have been grouped into teams, each focusing on innovations in different agriculture sectors - animal science, plant science, bioprocessing and consumers. The teams spent the first part of the semester researching and analyzing innovative products to come up with a final list of 20, including two representing the dairy industry, to present to America’s Cultivation Corridor staff and industry representatives. Those presentations took place Oct. 9.
