George Washington Carver Day of Recognition

Feb. 3, 2025

Ames, Iowa

Iowa State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and College of Veterinary Medicine invite you to join in celebrating the annual George Washington Carver Day at Iowa State University.

We are honored to have Dr. Jewel Bronaugh, president and CEO of the 1890 Universities Foundation, as our keynote speaker for the evening.

Additionally, we will hear from Dr. Dan Grooms, dean of Iowa State's College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Ruby Perry, dean of Tuskegee College of Veterinary Medicine, as they share their remarks on the legacy of Dr. Frederick Douglas Patterson. Like Carver, Dr. Patterson was a prominent Iowa State alum who went on to cement his legacy as president of Tuskegee Institute and many other accomplishments.
