Jason Orr is a fifth-generation farmer from Buchanan County, raising waxy corn, grass hay and 40 head of stock cows. On their farm for the past three years, they have used cover crops on every acre and this year will also be converting to strip-till.
Currently Jason serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 3 and on the Research & Business Development Committee.
Jason has lived in northeast Iowa for his entire life and has had numerous experiences to help represent District 3. Currently he serves on the Buchanan County Corn Growers Board (2008-present), Buchanan County Fair Association Board (2022-present), Buchanan County Pork Producers Board (2003-2007) and is an active member of Iowa Corn Growers Association. Jason is very passionate about corn production and will continue to fight to keep the demand for agriculture products high.
Jason and his wife Megan have three children Jaxtin, Kaydence and Jarret. Jarret, a recent graduate of Iowa State University, will be returning to the farm as the sixth generation and will be planting his first crop this year. Outside of working on the farm Jason and his family enjoy golfing and attending concerts.
